Abstract

The article analyzes the craniological and osteological characteristics of
the remains of 14 soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, who died on the Volkhov
front (Leningrad region). Their height was calculated, their body type determined.
According to the «Algorithm of Appearance» program, we obtained the head
sizes the soldiers had when they were alive. The article describes as well the
individual features of their appearance according to the Verbal portrait program.
The contour and graphic portraits-reconstructions of 13 individuals were made.
Each investigated individual is presented in the context of the characteristics of
the burials, with a description of the injuries and the possible causes of death.
