Abstract

The reviewed monograph “Ethnocultural Processes of Western Polesia (Breschina)” is devoted to studying one of the six historical and ethnographic regions of Belarus, which has pronounced ethnic, linguistic, and ethnocultural specifics. The work covers a wide range of issues - ethnic history, peopling, ethno-confessional and ethnosocial structure, demographic processes and family and marital relations, public holidays, material culture. Involving numerous sources, the authors conclude that the population of Western Polesie is a specific ethnographic group with a unique linguistic, ethno-confessional and cultural landscape.
