Abstract

The article discusses the concepts of social justice and injustice in the Tajik Labor Migrants’ poetry. Ouк interest in poetry is due to its functionality as it accumulates, expresses, and forms contextual meanings. However, it has not received appropriate attention in Russian science.  At the same time, poetry creates a symbolical space where migrants can express their worries, outlooks, anxieties, and hopes. While conducting our interviews, we aimed not only to figure out what the concept of justice meant for our respondents but also to reveal the importance of their poetic reflections of the social reality for their self-identification and see who are “friends” and “foes” for them. The article is based on the analysis of the poetry by four migrant poets from Tajikistan and the interviews with three of them. Besides, the article contains the respondents’ original poems and their translations into Russian.
