Abstract

These are brief memoirs dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Department of Ethnography/ Ethnology, Faculty of History, Lomonosov Moscow State University. The author’s personal impressions date back to 1968–1974, when a whole galaxy of talented ethnographers worked under the leadership of the outstanding scientist S.A. Tokarev. They trained a large number of specialists who mastered the basics of scientific work, field research methods and continued the work of their wonderful teachers in various parts of the country. This testifies to the continuity of traditions in the field of ethnological science and its relevance up to present
