The article summarizes the main outcomes of the Congress of Anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia, which took place in the city of Perm from July 2 to 6, 2025. The Congress was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Komi-Permyak Okrug, the first national district in the USSR. The authors present key information on the history of the Congress over the past 20 years, including participant statistics and the geographical scope of the event. It is noted that both the number of participants and the thematic diversity of sectional meetings have been steadily increasing. The recent Congress hosted 1,170 attendees (out of 2,700 applications) from 73 regions of Russia and 23 countries. Details on the Congress’s preparatory process and accompanying opening events (photo exhibition, book fair, folkloric performance, etc.) are provided. Special attention is given to the key topics of the sections and roundtable discussions held during the event, as well as current issues facing the Russian humanities. The authors conclude that the Congress is becoming a vital platform for scholarly communication, shaping the future direction of anthropology and ethnology in Russia for the coming years.
