THE PHENOMENON OF PATIENT AGRESSION TOWARDS TREATEMENT AND PREVENTION OF THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC IN PAKISTAN
Abstract
The problems of the “doctor-patient” relationship have recently attracted more and more attention from specialists. The phenomenon of aggressive behavior of a patient towards a doctor is recorded in all countries of the world, including in Pakistan. The country’s government is not making the slightest effort to legally solve it. It is worth noting that the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated this problem, increasing the number of either verbal and physical attacks by patients or their relatives against medical personnel. Many doctors suffered moral, material and physical damage as a result of this, which was reflected in their departure from the Pakistani understanding of international concepts of prevention and treating patients in the context of the coronavirus epidemic. At the same time, many of the doctors would like to receive state guarantees of protection in conflict situations, but at present, they are forced to rely more on the strength of the hospital walls, private security and their own self-defense skills.
