PROBLEMS OF AYURVEDA INTEGRATION INTO PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEMS: EDUCATION AND ADMISSION TO MEDICAL WORK

The article discusses the use of traditional medicine (TM) and traditional medical systems (TMS) on the example of Ayurveda. The state of Ayurveda and other Indian TMSs is described: the peculiarities of this medicine's functioning, its place in the health care system, training of medical personnel, production of medicines, etc. World Health Organization (WHO) documents related to the status of traditional medicines and traditional medical systems in their countries of origin are analyzed, as well as recommendations and suggestions for their dissemination and implementation in other countries. The problem of introducing Ayurveda and other TMSs in the Russian medical practice is analyzed in detail; the possibilities for the highest quality training of TMS specialists are pointed out.
