MEDICAL ANTHROPOLOGY: WHO SHOULD TEACH, AND WHAT?

Abstract

Medical anthropology as an academic discipline taught at universities in different countries has existed for over half a century, but in Russia it remains outside of lecture halls. This article discusses the question of who should teach it and what should be included in learning courses. The author briefly analyzes the foreign and Russian experience in teaching medical anthropology and shares his ideas on what and how can be done to advance this discipline in the educational space of universities.
