Abstract: Interest in Tibetan traditional medicine (TTM) can be observed today in various regions of the Russian Federation. In our country there are specialists practicing TTM. Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo visited Russia many times to pass on her knowledge to doctors. In the interview, she talks about how Tibetan medicine developed in the Tibetan AR (China), how it functions now, and whether there can be productive cross-fertilization between western medicine and traditional Tibetan medicine.


Phuntsog Wangmo is a Professor at Lhasa Tibetan Medical University (Lhasa, Tibetan Autonomous Region of China), Director and Principal Lecturer of the Shang Shung Institute’s School of Tibetan Medicine, Vice President and Chief Doctor of the Special Committee on Tibetan Medicine of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine, President of the American Tibetan Association Medicine (ATMA), Chief expert on Tibetan medicine of the Medical Association PARM (Sevastopol).
